WHAT IS FARFLUNG?
Farflung is a geography trivia game that tests your knowledge of countries, capitals, borders, and languages. Each round gives you a clue, and your task is to find a country that matches it by exploring the world map and placing a pin on your chosen destination. Since multiple countries may fit the same prompt, careful consideration can help you find less obvious answers and earn more distance. Choose between timed challenges and relaxed exploration, or try the daily expedition shared by all players. Start guessing countries and see how close you can get to the perfect 500-kilometre journey.

Geography Clues and Strategic Country Selection
Each prompt in Farflung focuses on geographical knowledge, including national borders, capital cities, and languages. Because a clue can have multiple valid answers, you need to consider which countries fit the description rather than simply choosing the most familiar option. Exploring different possibilities makes each round an opportunity to test what you know about the world.
Build Your Expedition Distance
Your goal is to accumulate distance by selecting valid countries, with less obvious choices potentially earning more distance than common answers. Work toward the target of a 500-kilometre journey while learning about the countries connected to each prompt. Reviewing the answers after a round can help you recognize alternative possibilities and make more informed choices in future games.
Daily Challenges, Unlimited Play, and Game Modes
The Daily expedition features five prompts shared by all players, with a new challenge available at midnight UTC. If you want more practice, Unlimited mode lets you start additional expeditions without waiting for the next daily challenge.
You can also choose the pace that suits you. Classic mode uses a 60-second timer, making quick decisions important as you examine the map. Wander mode removes the time limit, giving you more freedom to consider different countries before placing your pin. Both modes let you approach the same geography challenges in different ways.
